281209 - The Mysore & Ooty Trip

My sister came to Bangalore a few days back to enjoy the holidays. We planned to visit Mysore and Ooty for Christmas. We went to Mysore on 24th and conveniently stayed in Hotel SreeRam before planning for the next days visit to the city. When bachelors are on a trip there's not much to concern about but its exactly the opposite when you are on a family trip. We thought it better to book a travel agency Bus. We knew that our decision was bad mid-way into the next day.

We were ready bang-on-time next day morning but the Indian Bus came an hour late. And guess what? First, it was a Khatara Bus and second, we were the first to be pickedup which meant some more time wastage. The Khatara finished pickingup everyone by 10:20.

We first visited the Art Gallery which was no different than its twins. Then the zoo where we saw the giraffes and had to walk a lot. After that we went to Chamundi hills to give a visit to the temple. They were nice. In the afternoon, we went to visit the Mysore Palace which was simply awesome. In the evening, we headed towards the Brindavan Gardens where we enjoyed the musical night after struggling hard with the traffic.

Next day, we planned to go Ooty. The sad part of the plan was that we thought of coming back the same day and it was Chritmas time. We didn't get any seat in any of the buses and there were o cabs available for hire. We wasted our time uselessly near the bus Stand. By the time we got tickets in a bus @ 3 pm, there was no time left to visit any place in Mysore. So we went to sandlewood shop and the Mysore silk saaree shop.

We started for Ooty in the afternoon and reached there nearly mdnight. Next day, we booked a taxi and visited a few places. Boating was the centre of attraction as it was an awesome ride through the clean water of the Lake. We somehow managed to visit the important places except the Dodabetta point.

Overall Mysore is a nice place worth a proper visit. Ooty is also nice but not better than Munnar. I would like to give one more visit to Mysore, a couple of days infact.

6th December, the C-Day. While filling up the form 88 days back, there were so many doubts about the conduct of online CAT in mind which only increased when I faced the Prometric interface for the registration. With a few technical glitches, unexpected from an international testing company, it was just an optimistic hope that the CAT will be conducted properly this year.

I reached the centre, RVIM by 1:20 pm, 10 minutes before we were expected to reach. But we were made to stand in the sun (Thanks God its Bangalore and Winter season) and the gate was opened only @ around 1:50. Then our photo-id, cat voucher and admit card were checked and we were let inside. After depositing our belongings in a separate security desks we proceeded towards the testing lab. There we had Biometric tests where in they took our photograph and finger Print scan.

We have had enough time to relax and get used to the testing environment (and the system). The process started before time and it really took more time than it should have. Disobeying the rule, I had to look into the screens of others to check whether its just me or everyone else. After a few steps of logins and clicks, we finally got to the screen where the buttons of staring the exam and the tutorial was there.

I started my tutorial and though I knew what all are there in that tutorial, I looked at it properly for any changes. None were there. I pressed the 'End Tutorial' button to end it. It asked a confirmation and got back to the page from where I went to the tutorial.

I started relaxing as my next step was to start the test. After about a couple of minutes, I looked at my screen which showed a button called 'Resume Test' and below it 'Time Left 0:00:00'. Though it was mentioned in the instructions not to look at others' screen, I looked at the screen of the two guys sitting next to me in both directions. Both had buttons called 'Start Test'.

I could find no other way out than to call the invigilator. Thank God that he knew the solution of that particular problem and he re-logged and restarted the entire process. By the time I started mine, almost everyone in my room were 15 minutes into their test. I knew that I was going to be tested psychologically in the last 15 minutes.

The rest of the test went on smoothly and when I finished, I saw that I still had 14 minutes and a few seconds left for my test to b over. I started to revise my weakest section - Verbal. Just then, the others finished their tests and were told to remain seated in their seats until everybody finished. After about 7 minutes, they were asked to leave and only one guy apart from me was left in the room.

I finished mine and came out with a broad smile on my face. The test went f9 and attempting all questions was surely going to boost my confidence.

I enjoyed the rest of the day.

Song of the Day :

Saanson Ko Saanson Mein Dhalne Do Zara
Dheemi Si Dhadkan Ko Badhne Do Zara
Lamho Ki Guzarish Hai Yeh Paas Aa Jaaye

Nazron Mein Ho Guzarta Hua
Khwabon Ka Koi Khafila
Jismo Ko Ruho Ko Jalne Do Zara
Sharmo Haya Ko Machalne Do Zara
Lamho Ki Guzarish Hai Yeh Paas Aa Jaaye
Hum… Hum Tum…

Saanson Ko Saanson Mein Dalne Do Zara

Choolo Badan Magar Iss Tarah
Jaisa Surila Saaz Ho
Hum Hai Re Chupe Tere Zulf Mein

Hooo.. Its been almost 3 months when I last blogged..! So many important stuffs has happened in this period. Well, let me recollect a few of them. :)

Second half of Aug didn't had much in its kitty except that I came closer to Abhi and Chinu and no comments about DP... :)

In came September, waited for something to happen. And something happened. Gues what??? Well, my forgetfulness about the birthdays increased. I once again forgot the birthday of someone whom I sud hv wished. Anyway, The last week was awesome coz of the presence of Durga Puja. First, We went to the pandal in St Johns, where we were attracted to a girl - Laal Waali; Infact, that group of 3 also noticed us. Well, the it sud hv come later. before that, the celebration thr was good. :). The next day we saw the one @ JP Nagar 3rd phase and then headed for Koramangla. Guess what??? I donno it was a coincidence or what.... Laal Wali and her group was there. Well, this time, the attraction was convertes into crush. Its pretty hard to forget that face of hers even now. Its crystal clear right in front of me. The coincidence didn't repeat itself. :(

October is always the best month every year and it was again proved. Our late-night walks and bike rides increased a bit. Then my birthday, in which one of the very important person of my life didn't call me. Next was home trip for Diwali which was again filled with so much joy and love. Wasn't this enough? OK, In the last weekend we went to Chikmangalur (Sorry, for the spelling.. thr r a few versions of that) on a team outing. We reached to Eagle's Eye Resort on 30th night. We did plantation walk, trekking, coracle boat riding, fishing, shooting and enjoyed the adventurous waterfall and the river-side picnic. Add camp-fire to the list and it was a full njyment of one and a half days.

November has started as a normal month. Me and Chinu went to the Bannerghatta temple @ 11 pm on Tuesday. The cool heavy breeze accompanied by a small drizzle made the rock top as enjoying as the hills of Munnar minus the clouds.

M thinking of writing a few blogs on a few topics which are there in my mind. Lemme see when I can write them. Off for now.. gudnite :)

For the days :
Humor - A young man asked an old rich man how he made his money. The old guy fingered his worsted wool vest and said, "Well, son, it was 1932. The depth of the Great Depression. I was down to my last nickel. "I invested that nickel in an apple. I spent the entire day polishing the apple and, at the end of the day, I sold the apple for ten cents. "The next morning, I invested those ten cents in two apples. I spent the entire day polishing them and sold them at 5:00 pm for 20 cents. I continued this system for a month, by the end of which I'd accumulated a fortune of $1.37."
"And that's how you built an empire?" the boy asked.
"Heavens, no!" the man replied. "Then my wife's father died and left us two million dollars."
Decision - Move to content blogging

Chote is placed (on a contract basis, though). Nowadays, we are having a good time in our flat and not so good in the office. Yesterday, I jogged in a different way. Instead of jogging in the park, it was on the road - it was fast walking actually. I remembered P T Usha.

For more, check out the comment section.

Comment - Read this. I don't think that Chinese can be childish enough to think anything like this. If it does, let we Indians warn (challenge) them that they are not gng to succeed in any plot against us. India is known for its unity and will always be one against any external force. Beware China...
Mail - kissing not a violence from yahoo group 'lights of India'. Dont apply ur mind so much. It had pictures of kissing kids (boys and girls ofcourse)
Humor - A man was telling his friends, "When my wife is infuriated, she starts shouting at me, my children and even at our dogs and nobody dares to answer her."
One of his friends asked."And when you are angry, what do you do?"
The man replied, "I also shout angrily at the windows and doors of the house and none of them dares to answer back.

This weekend was a good one. Had slept a lot and walked a lot.

Yesterday, I went to CV Raman Nagar - for the whole day. Came back after dinner and reoeganised a few of my folders.

Couldn't jog during the weekends. Restarted it today.

Today was a busy and tiring day. With the SwineFlu death toll rising, the day was not so good.

Good News... I am gng for jogging for the last two days. Well, I am trying to wake up early and shift it to morning too, but have not achieved success. Hope to get it in near future.

Today, twitter was down whole day. The spammers were succesful in creating panic in the twitter office.

In the fourth Ashes test, England (actually England-Flintoff) gave all their wickets in mere 102 runs. SL needs 322 runs to keep their chase for the clean sweep.

Friday has this particular lines always - enjoy ur weekend :)

Suddenly Mrs. Smith realized that a young man was about to propose.
Not wanting to eavesdrop at such an intimate moment, she nudged her husband and whispered, "Whistle and let that young couple know that someone can hear them."
Smith said, "Whistle? Why should I whistle? Nobody whistled to warn me."
Decision - Keep jogging.

050809

Today morning I got to learn a few things from Hemant. Let me tell you, I am a very good listener. :)

He told me about a couple of fundas related to jogging. First, stretching is a vital component. It should be evenly distributed into two periods - before the actual jogging and after the jogging. And its duration should be equal to the jogging time! It does keep the body pain away and helps in proper exercise of the muscles. I do the stretching after the jogging but never bothered about the warm-up. Now, I have to. Secondly, the speed factor. Normally, it is maximum in initially and decreases till we are exhausted. But, it should increase gradually from the first to the third quarter to reach a maximum and then it should be slowed down in the last quarter. It helps the body in maintaining the rhythm.

He told me that he jogs in the evening nowadays. Its a good idea for the dudes like me who can do anything but wakeup in the morning and go for jogging. Lemme try it out.

It all came from the stuff that one of his brother's friend is in IAF, posted in Siachen. Our (one way) discussion went into the conditions in Siachen - low temperature leading to freezing of the weapons, and food. I remember when I have been in the lowest temperature - @ around 5 in the morning on 2nd dec 2007 in Ranchi. I salute the soldiers posted in the 'live freezers'.

Today is Rakshabandhan. Wish you all (not all exactly) happy rakshabandhan.

Yesterday while going back from the office, I saw a dog waiting outside the book binding shop, opposite to our street. He was looking at the closed door and the name plate above it in such a way as an elderly person thinks -" Now, what should I do. There's only this shop around and I have to get this book binded tonight. I am dead!" Ha ha ha ha ha... So, cute....

Yesterday night, me and Abhishek discussed about the Freida Pinto debacle. She betrayed her fiance Rohan Antao, for a comparatively 'famous and rich' Dev Patel. We tried to discuss in the point of view of the three involved. As expected, since we were of different views, no result came in the end. The incident just proved yet again that its impossible to understand girls. Infact, from this incident we may conclude that they can always leave you if they get a better option.

For the days :
Song - 'Chaha hai tujhko' from Mann
NEWS - Recession Fear
Memory - Excercise?
Inspiration - Hemant
Award - Education is now a right
Comment - Hope, there's noone like Freida Pinto in my life.

This weekend didn't have anything special. Yesterday's friendship was celebrated by calling a few close ones... I couldn't complete the list.

For the days :
Song - 'Kyu, foolon ke' - Kambakht Ishq
NEWS - KMC expels two students for ragging
Comment - Cricketers should fall in line, says Gill. Try saying something of that sort for the politicians rather than cricketers and the I need not say anything after that.
Mail - Not many. no1 in the contest to be mentioned
Humor - A boy was assigned a paper on childbirth and asked his mother, "How was I born?"
"Well honey..." said the slightly prudish mother, "the stork brought you to us."
"Oh," said the boy, "and how did you and daddy get born?"
"Oh, the stork brought us too." "Well how were grandpa and grandma born?" the boy persisted.
"Well darling, the stork brought them too!" said the mother, by now starting to squirm a little.
Several days later, the boy handed in his paper to the teacher who read with confusion the opening sentence:
"This report has been very difficult to write due to the fact that there hasn't been a natural childbirth in my family for three generations."

The day before yesterday had one speciality. It happened for the first time that I was not feeling hungry! I had watermelon adn 'naspatti' for my 'dinner'. And to my surprise, I didn't feel hungry till 2 o'clock when I went to bed. I got my sleep early too.

I went to RPS office for lunch (I had to take the residential proof too). In the evening, we were discussing about the sun-signs - ha ha ha.

After having Gobi Manchuriyan rice and allu chokha for dinner, I got mood to have DBC. Off we went to Corner House. Yummm.... I love it....!

Have your dreams ever come true? Well, not for me too. But yesterday night, I saw a dream of a funeral. There was nothing much I remember other than the fading scene of the sight. Today morning, I got the news that one of my aunts died yesterday for infection after jaundice operation.

Chinu is declining to take the net connection @home. Well, that means now we may or maynot take it. To be decided tonight.

For the days :
Song - 'Dhan te nan' - Kaminey
NEWS - 'FIR against Rakhi for her swayamvar'
Memory - The sudden death (and intimated by dream)
Award - MS and Yahoo for the partnership . Lets see Google's next step.
Comment - 'Himesh - now with 2 voices'. Well, everything about this person is mysterous for me. I don't know why public gave so much respect to his nose exhalings! Now, it seems that he too knows that nose cant substitute mouth. Hope, the new voice brings some value.
Mail - 'Its not love' - an old one but good
Humor - Sardar jee
AND
How to handle bad news....
At dawn the telephone rings. "Hello, Master Carlos? This is Arnaldo your country house caretaker"
"Ah yes, Mr. Arnaldo. What can I do for you? Is there a problem?"
"Um, I am just calling to advise you, sir, that your parrot died"
"My parrot? Dead? The one that won the competition?"
"That's the one."
"Darn! That's such a pity! I spent a small fortune on that bird. Oh well...what did he die from?"
"From eating rotten meat."
"Rotten meat? Who was so mean as to give him meat?"
"Nobody. He ate the meat of one of the dead horses."
"Dead horse? What dead horse Mr. Arnaldo?"
"Why, those pure breed ones that you had, sir. They died from all that work pulling the water cart."
"Are you insane? What water cart?"
"The one we used to put out the fire."
"Good Lord! What fire are you talking about, man?"
"The one at your house! A candle fell and then the curtain caught on fire."
"What the.....!!! But theres electricity at the house!!!!
What was the candle for???"
"For the funeral."
"WHAT BLOODY FUNERAL???!!!!!"
"Your mother's! She showed up one night out of the blue and I thought she was a thief, so I shot her."
Decision - Have to decide about the net tonight.

I wanted to write a few things about this weekend, but I didn't get enough time. Ya, I am really very busy.

This weekend was a mixed one. friday was a regular 'extended' night. The other two mornings converted to nights. I had a small walk in the Saturday evening and watched a couple of regular movies at night. Sunday evening, I went to mini forest alongwith Chinu and then walked back from there. Night was reserved for cooking :P

Today, I went to home for lunch and cooked aalu-patal sabji, alongwith chokha and rice. It seems that I am gonna be a full-fledged cook.

Nothing much in the office today except work. Finally, I'll be applying for broadband tomorrow with the documents. Hopefully, we'll have it in a couple of days.

Have to leave now.

Yesterday was supposed to be a big day. Nothing much happened. In office, it was a tiring day, had my lunch in Krishna Chinai with Chinu and went for dinner in a new restaurant. We got 'TheMaster'. I would not refer that to anyone. After dinner, me and Abhi went for a walk across Jayanagr 9th Block and continued our chat in the terrace till just before midnight.

We chatted about various aspects related to our childhood, school days (especially cricket), college days and the year after that. We talked about how immaturely we used to think about different stuffs and how we knew about the truth from our school and elders, how we learnt certain important stuffs, about a few teachers of our schools, about our batchmates (not much about girls - surprising), much about school cricket and 'cricketers', about a few school memories, some college specialities, a few college events, life during and after college, future plans and possibilities and many more. We also discussed about the 'Time Machine'.

Today was comparatively better. Its Friday, so leaving now.

I didn't post yesterday intentionally. Now I'll be posting, probably, on Mondays, Wednessdays and Fridays (Sunday will be included once I get net connection @ home).

Monday night was a great one (dont make your mind think too much). Abhi came and we chatted, chatted, chatted, chatted.....

We had our dinner in Park View and then chatted in 'the Park'. Then we had a long walk round JPNagar 3rd phase before chatting more in our house.

Yester'day' was normal with not much events except a few discussions which I dont remember much.

Yesterday night I got an unexpected inportant call, because of which my chappaties got hardened and we ate papads instead of rotis - bad start for Abhi.

Sometimes, a call can change your life. And it did for me. I got to bed comparatively earlier, and guess what? I got sleep very quickly. Moreover, I had actually woke up @ 5:55 but just extended it to 8 intentionally. Today, I came to office early and was in a very good mood. :)

A word about Google Docs. Its a pretty nice stuff. We have got a very good idea recently about sharing our experiences with our Juniors exploting the google docs spreadsheets. Lets see, how it shapes up.

C ya in the next blog.

200709

This was one of the best weekends for me in Bangalore. Ya, my Big Bro was here for a short visit before joining HPCL in Ranchi. He reached at around half an hour after Friday midnight.

Saturday was primarily a rest day as we slept as ususal in the morning hours. BigB continued it till 5 in the evening. After that, we went to Forum where the Paper Dance organized by Scholl was was the centre of attraction for more than half an hour. The group which danced properly was the group which got eliminated just before the runner-ups did. And the winners were the worst dancers. Prize money - two scholl creams for each of the partner; worth Rs 50 for the runner-up and double that amount for the winners. It was followed by our dinner at Dominos. The girl at the counter made more than three attempts to count my sodexhos. I have to take back Rs 50 note and give her a change of Re 1 to convince her the correct count.

Sunday was the tour day. We went to Iskcon in the morning. Its a nice place to give a visit to. As usual, we cameras and mobile phones were not allowed inside the premises. The cool wind blowing around tried its best to stop us there. Finally, we overcame the temptation and went to Lalbagh in our way back. I had expected the botanical garden to be better maintained. The lack of water in the sprinklers and lotus pond did nothing to meet the expectation as did the Rose Garden. Had it not been due to the the pics in the map, we wouldn't have had any clue about the glass house, band stand and the dove cot. Atleast, it ended positively with the old tree fossil before the air breeze near the birdless lake almost stopped our feet to move. The moments of smile came when one of the monkeys drank thumpsup directly from a bottle and another gave a couple of nice poses when ts pics were taken.

Today Abhishek is coming home. Looking forward to have a great chat.

Nevertheless, he still had to entertain the Mallu. So he told her "If you could form a sentence using the words that I give you, then maybe I will give you a chance! The words are GREEN, PINK, YELLOW, BLUE, WHITE, PURPLE and BLACK".
The enthusiastic Mallu lady thought for a while and said :
"I hear the phone GREEN GREEN GREEN, then I go and PINK up the phone, I say YELLOW....BLUE'S that? WHITE did you say? Aiye, wrong number....Don't PURPLELY disturb people and don't call BLACK, ok? Thank You."
The Manager fainted........

Yesterday around midnight, I came to the ATM and Chinnu went for RPS. Before that he had to refill petrol in his bike. But his tank was empty just before he reached the petrol pump. Worse, the pump was closed. He called me up and I went towards the Petrol pump, walking. I was about to reach there, but I couldn't see Chinnu. I rang him up. he said that the bike was in main, so he still had 1 ltr of petrol left in the tank. I had a good walk. :)

Today, we discussed about desktop wallpapers which went into the direction of space (thanks to my wallpaper) and ended on the documentary which proves US mission to moon as faulty.

Its Friday and my BigB is coming. So, I m gonna njy my weekend.

Nothing extra to add. It seems to be quite monotonous nowadays. Its better to decrease the frequency of blogging.

This is really rude ...(refer Award of the day) "Dev's continued links with the unofficial league prompted the BCCI to keep him away from the unveiling of the 2011 World Cup logo in Mumbai on Tuesday."

This is really nice :(See inspiration of the day) Why are these qualities so rare in the public sector? Because, for most of the public sector, the chiefs are chosen for political consideration or some other consideration. And the moment he goes there, the agenda is to please the political masters instead of doing what is good for the organisation.

This weekend was PB'end. Didn't get it? Oh, k. It was Prison Break Weekend. I watched more than half of the episodes in the first season and first few in the last. I liked it.

The weekend in Marathalli also saw us enjoying. In the evening, we went to Dominos and at night we had chicken and lots of fun. I couldn't sleep well that night, God knows the reason. Sunday was comparatively less eventful, as I was watching PB and we cooked at home only.

I came back today morning only. By then, chinnu had returned from his home. Nice to see him back again.

Today afternoon, we went for Transformers. Its a movie to be seen in a hall - don't give it a miss.

My BigB is coming this weekend. I just got the tickets. C Ya tomorrow. :)

Poem - Waqt Nahi

Har khushi Hai Logon Ke Daman Mein,
Par Ek Hansi Ke Liye Waqt Nahi.
Din Raat Daudti Duniya Mein,
Zindagi Ke Liye Hi Waqt Nahi.

Maa Ki Loree Ka Ehsaas To Hai,
Par Maa Ko Maa Kehne Ka Waqt Nahi.
Saare Rishton Ko To Hum Maar Chuke,
Ab Unhe Dafnane Ka Bhi Waqt Nahi.

Saare Naam Mobile Mein Hain,
Par Dosti Ke Lye Waqt Nahi.
Gairon Ki Kya Baat Karen,

Jab Apno Ke Liye Hi Waqt Nahi.

Aankhon Me Hai Neend Badee,
Par Sone Ka Waqt Nahi.
Dil Hai Ghamon Se Bhara Hua,
Par Rone Ka Bhi Waqt Nahi.

Paison ki Daud Me Aise Daude,
Ki Thakne ka Bhi Waqt Nahi.
Paraye Ehsason Ki Kya Kadr Karein,
Jab Apane Sapno Ke Liye Hi Waqt Nahi.

Tu Hi Bata E Zindagi,
Iss Zindagi Ka Kya Hoga,
Ki Har Pal Marne Walon Ko,

Jeene Ke Liye Bhi Waqt Nahi...

Yesterday, just after publishing my post I read Rajesh kalra's blog - We are useless sporting nation. I have some comments. Do visit My Views for it.

When I went home, I saw our kitchen floor was full of water and it was flowing through the hall to my room. Oops. Some pipe leakage somewhere which I couldn't find out.

Ritesh called me up yesterday and asked me to come to meet him in Mathikere. Lets see whether I can make it.

Nothing much today. I got to know about a link where we can file our grievances regarding any government office. Here is the link. I have not verified it. If its correct link and the people related to it are responsible enough, I guess we have a good tool in our hands.

In the cubicle, we discussed about actual height and effective height due to body shape and structure. Then we proceeded towards the body built and the hardness of my palm. :)

I don't know whether vikash knows about the 'RT' option in twitter. If he does, I m sure he doesn't like to use it for obvious reasons. Today I tweeted a link of Google Chrome OS. he did the same thing. All twitter users, please learn to use 'RT'.

Hmmm, dada is interested to administer cricket. I don't know whether its a good NEWS or bad. But one thing is sure, if he takes charge of an important place, others maynot apply their minds - they just need to do what dada says and cricket will be administered automatically. I wish u all the best Ganguly (my one time fav).

Upon recovery, the woman decided to stay in the hospital
to have a face-lift, liposuction, breast implants and a tummy tuck.
She even had someone come in and change her hair colour and brighten her teeth!
Since she had so much more time to live, she figured she might as well make the most of it.
After her last operation, she was released from the hospital.
While crossing the street on her way home, she was killed by an ambulance.
Arriving in front of God, she demanded,
"I thought you said I had another 43 years, 2 months and 8 days
Why didn't you pull me from out of the path of the ambulance?"
God : "didn't recognize you at that time"

Many many happy returns of the day Mahi.... He's got a nice birthday gift from Anu Bhambhani, Times of India...

As per today's reactions to yesterday's budget, this article tried to say the fact in the first half - Its more of a political budget than national budget. As per the comments of Narayan Murthy, it seems that FM has taken the shield of recession in a better way. It may be true for the corporate world.

Economic times posted an article on Googlies of budget 2009-10. I have listed just three of them here
*Here, it says 'Fringe Benefit Tax stands abolished, but a tad too late. India Inc has paid the first installment of FBT. Further, rules will be introduced to determine the perquisite value that should be taxable in the employees’ hands. You thought that a tax was abolished? It is just transfer of the onus of paying tax from the employer to the employee. ESOPs, employers contribution to superannuation and much much more will also be a perquisite, taxable in your hands and mine.' Well, is this what our new government is supposed to do? A few other articles do suggest that we will now be 'taking home' less than we used too, yes, even after considering the increase in the minimum limit from 1.5 to 1.6.
*Donations to electoral trusts allowed 100% deduction. Ha ha ha ha. Its just another way to get the funds for the elections. This is called politics.
*Tax deduction at 20%, if Pan Card not available. My cousin Shivprakash has applied for PAN card so many times. Once the agent cheated and got himself Ctrl+Alt+Deleted from the scene; other times, he didn't get any response from the authorities. What is he supposed to do?

In the fourth day Pakistan-SL test match, today morning I saw the 3rd day's end score - Pak 71/2 needing just 97 to win with 8 wickets in hand and 2 days to go. They were all out @ 117..!

Mrs. Ross packed their summer clothes very carefully the night before their departure, and the next
morning they got up early and drove directly to the airport.
While they were waiting at the check-in counter, Mr. Ross began to question his wife about the things
she had packed.
" Did you remember my red bathing suit? " he asked.
" Of course," she answered.
" You didn't forget our tennis shoes, did you? " he asked.
" Of course not," she replied. Suddenly there was a long silence.
" Murray, what's wrong? " said Mrs. Ross. " You look worried."
" I'll bet you didn't bring the piano," he replied.
" The piano? " she said. " Why on earth would I bring the piano? "
" Because," he said sheepishly, " I left our plane tickets on top of it."

This weekend was one of the good ones. I had gone to my seniors home in Kodihalli(Airport Road, near Domlur Flyover). From there, we went to SP Road on Saturday. Ravi Sir bought a desktop and Mrityunjay sir a LCD Monitor. We went to Corner House after the dinner.

I woke up late, then had chicken in the lunch and returned in the evening and just roamed in the BTM 100 ft road. Nothing much @ night.

Today is the budget day. I need not comment as the Sensex gave a much matured response. I came through a very interesting, and actually true, blog by Anand Soondas related to budget. Read here. It really says the true stuff. Whatever happens, everything is got to be costlier. During the recession, we heard the figues like negative something for the inflation. Well, where did that negative stuff went? I still buy all the stuffs either at the same price or at higher price. Does those parameters has anything to do with the common man (PLU, People Like Us as per Anand Soondas) ?

The blog by Anoop Kohli (Internet chat between our PM and Obama) was also nice and humorous.

Tomorrow is Dhoni's birthday. Happy birthday in advance.

"Wonderful," exclaimed Einstein. "We can discuss the contribution made by Ernest Rutherford to atomic physics and my theory of general relativity". The second answered 150. "Good," said Einstein. "I look forward to discussing the role of New Zealand's nuclear-free legislation in the quest for world peace". The third New Zealander mumbled 50. Einstein paused, and then asked, "So what is your forecast for the budget deficit next year?"

Today is the Railway budget day. Mamta bannerji presented a 'just above average' looking budget. Nothing much for Jharkhand. Ranchi has been mentioned at a couple of places, but no Dhanbad or Tatanagar ! Hats off to the monthly paases and availability of tickets in the postoffices.

I had applied for Airtel's internet connection on Monday. Someone from Airtel called me up and told that she'll be sending a person to my address - that day or the next day. When nobody called me in the next two days, I applied again. This time nobody responded. Today I applied again and also twittered that. Lets see whether the kiruba incident was ''one of the incidents' or 'the incident'. I am sure, its the later.

Sara Gable, associate professor of human development and family studies, Missouri University (MU) "Overweight is widely considered a stigmatising condition and overweight individuals are typically blamed for their situation. The experience of being stigmatised often leads to negative feelings, even in children," . This was what I wanted to convey by my blog Health. Overweight people shouldn't be blamed just because they are obese. They can fair better in many areas of life.

Last but not least, TGIF. So, enjoy your weekend :)

Welcome back after a two days break. Hope this was the longest break!

On Saturday, I went for usual walk after the short rain in the evening. In the way, I saw a children playing cricket which reminded me of my cricket playing days. Those unforgettable sixes, fours, catches, wickets, run-outs and above all the feeling after those wins and defeats. They used to matter so much those days ! Whenever I remeber my cricket, I always remember a few golden moments. First, the 7-1 series win held in between Durga Puja and Diwali in 2001 in which I led the team with example and giving my best all round performance (Even now I miss Abhijeet). Second, the great six which I had hit in the bowling of Afsar, after being provocated when the next period's bell rang. It took us a couple of days to search that ball. Third, my well deserved century under pressure which helped my team to win the match that mattered. Fourth, the great catch of Rajeev Ranjan to give me a hattrick in 1999. Fifth, the one-ball duck when I was playing for my village (dewagram,Bokaro) and a lot has been expected of me. Though, I bowled well we lost the thrilling match by 1 wicket in the last ball (It was a dropped catch converted into 2 runs). Besides all these, I cant forget my hatricks - one in each in std 6th, 7th, 8th, 10th and 12th and two in 9th; my fieldings having 100% efforts; my always-above-run-a-ball batting and the team spirit which we had in school days.

Coming back to present, yesterday was an uneventful but a packed day. I had gone to Jaynagar 4th Block, where I bought an iron box and 2 T-shirts - Ya, I am just thinking of shifting to T-shirts again for a short duration. In the evening I went to Forum, then Reliance Fresh and finally DS Paradise after having my dinner.

Today morning was not a great one. I woke up after Chinu left for office and the current was @ its best in choosing to leave our flat. I had to search for my formal pant as I couldn't iron today's clothes - a result of laziness though. I should have ironed it yesterday :(

Today is Sony's birthday. Wish her very very very happy birthday.

Yesterday, we went to Chinu's friend's home to return his stove. We had some nice time there in the open terrace, the weather was so cool. I just remembered the difference betweeen Bangalore and Dhanbad at that time. My family is reeling under the heat and desparately waiting for the monsoon and here, the weather is such that one cant sit there for 2-3 hrs without wearing a jacket! We should invent some device which can average out the weather conditions in two places. :)

Today also, I woke up @ 6 and then slept again. I woke up again @ around 7:10, Manish was leaving for home. I saw him off an auto to the Railway Station and slept again (I was feeling a bit tired). In this last round of my sleep, I saw some weird dreams, dificult to explain them.

I didn't get much time today to write this blog. While coming to the office, it was sunny and there was a little drizzle. In the afetrnoon, we had the much awaited appraisal meeting today just before lunch. I was told what I am supposed to do in the next few months.

Then we had the farewell lunch for Himanshu at Barbique Nation. For the first time, I saw that there were more veg people than non-veg ! We had a nice lunch, talked so many stuffs and bid farewell to Himanshu.

In the evening, I went for the tgif quiz on the T20 World Cup. 'Cricinfo' answered all but one. That 'one' will decide the prize.

And not to forget, today is Friday. So, the next post may come in a day or two's expense.

Hey, do you people like these blogs. If yes, do write a few comments. Only Jikki Sir has told me personally that they were really nice. Thanks Sir, I'll keep on improving.

I was waiting for a train to Koderma at Sijua station. The announcement for the arrival of the train was done. Then I called Abhishek to come quickly and went to the counter to collect my ticket. The fare was Rs. 25. I had lots of change and two 10 rupee notes. I handed over one ten rupee note and three 5 rupee coins at the counter. When I took out my changes, everyone nearby looked at me with surprise - I dont know whether the reason was that I have lots og change or that I am giving the change in the counter. I moved ahead to check whether Abhishek has come, he was nowhere in the scene. I heard the train whistling like a stud just outside the platform. I waited for it and saw the arriving coaches for carrying goods. It stopped when the engine was just near me. I thought, where the hell are the passenger coaches - it might be at the back. Then why the hell it stopped at an a place it is not supposed to stop. To my great relief, the train started moving again and my six 0' clock alarm ran.

Before leaving the office yesterday, I got a mail from Rohini asking to choose a number between 1 to 7 to know what kind of marriage I will be having. The deciding table was like:
1. Arranged Marriage
2.Marriage With Someone special who's waiting for you
3. Love Marriage
4. Love +Arranged Marriage
5. You'll go against your parents and marry
6. You will have more than one marriage
7. Marriage With Friend
When the number '7' is available, no other number defends me.

Shortly after that, me and Chinu went to Big Bazar to buy some requisite food items. There I saw the (yesterday) morning's park girl with her husband. Just a giggle.

Our dinner time was among the memorables. Before we were even halfway through, our gas was over. We had to bring Chinu's friend's gas stove from Arakere. It was not a complete goodluck for us, though. Somehow, we finished our dinner. In the morning, when chinu was heating milk, it overflowed. It repeated its act when I did it again !

You must be wondering what happened after that alarm ending the dream just before the climax. I wokeup, looked out at the milk shop, it was closed. So, I slept again. :)

I finally woke up @ 10:30. Before leaving for office, I forgot which shirt I wore yesterday! I don't know whether I am wearing the same shirt I wore yesterday. Well, it doesn't matter that much, does it?

In the cubicle today, we saw the old certificate photographs of Rakesh. If one doesn't see his/her pic taken in the earlier school day, he/she definately cant recognize himself/herself. The same was true for Rakesh. I remembered my very first formal pic, in which I look so cute that most people ask the question - is he a guy or is she a girl?

Later in the evening, we discussed about traffic police stopping the vehicles in Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Dhanbad. The discussion went into the number of documents necessary in India for applying for passports and the corrupt system associated with it.

Santa got a part time job at the Chandigarh Post Office. The first assignment his supervisor gave him was the job of sorting the mail.
Santa separated the letters so fast that his motions were literally a blur. Extremely pleased by this, the supervisor approached Santa at the end of his first day.
"I just want you to know," the supervisor said, "that I'm very pleased with the job you did today. You're one of the fastest workers we've ever had."
"Thank you, Sir" said Santa, beaming, "and tomorrow I'll try to do even better."
"Better?" the supervisor asked with astonishment. "How can you possibly do any better than you did today?"
Santa replied, "Tomorrow I'm going to read the addresses."
Decision of the day - Tomorrow 6 o 'clock

240609

Guess what? I woke up @ 6 in the morning and went for jogging. Had it not been myself, I too would not have believed it. I went to the nearby park, behind our headquarter. I ran two rounds and then did some exercises before walking fast again around the park twice. It was long since I had done so much physical work in such hours of the dawn. Well, it did setup a good base for a pretty good day.

Women are now equal to men in all spheres of life - I am sure you have heard this sentence more than it can mean. I think this 'equality' just refers to equality in terms of money, recognition and occasional hard work if its related to the other factors. Not really when it comes to physical hard work (exceptions can be found anywhere). Don't agree? Lemme give you a simple example. In the park, there were so many guys of around my age, but no girls! Common yaar, the youngest women in the park would be around the age of 35 or even slightly more. Just kidding yaar, women are really catching up with guys - I have numerous examples to support this. So, just cut it off...!

Anyway, my calculations would have been wrong had I not decided to take a round of fast walking around the park before leaving for the day. A girl (lets say it), around 30, was doing some exercise behind the thickest brown unmovable trunk (don't apply too much of a brain, its just thickest tree) in the middle row of the park. Well, I have no idea at all why was she behind that tree (her slimness adding to the curiosity), as if she doesn't want anyone to see her doing exercise! Had she not been the youngest and fairest present there, I don't think anyone would have even looked like noticing her. At last I was in a position to have a blind guess. She might be in a project related to 'body recognition' (inspired by my final year project 'face recognition' [:)]), wherein, just to prove her theories correct, she's going to put (only) herself as the subject and a skeleton in the result. I wish good luck to her.

In the near noon period, I had a heated mail 'discussion' with Aluru. I guess, as the benefits we should be provided free mental checkup by our employer.

I just got a mail - "What name tells". For those whose name starts with 'U' : "You are enthusiastic & at your happiest when in love. When not in love you're in love with love and always looking for someone to adore. You see romance as challenge. You are a roamer & needs adventure, excitement freedom. You enjoy giving gifts & looking good. You are willing to put others feelings above yours."
Lemme analyze that. Ya, I am enthusiastic and everyone is happiest when in love, but what about the case when u have been rejected?
"When not in love, you're in love with love and always looking for someone to adore" - Frankly speaking, it seems to be weird. But if its talking about some virtual stuff, then probably it can be correct.
"You see romance as a challenge" - If there's is no one @ the receiving end, it definitely is, isn't it?
"You are a roamer and needs adventure, excitement and freedom" - I like roaming around, especially if the weather is good and/or the idea of roaming itself is challenging or demanding. Who doesn't like excitement and freedom. Not me, anyway.
"You like giving gifts and looking good" - I don't remember giving too many gifts and if I have a chance to meet any girl I know, I try to look better than normal.
"You are willing to put others feelings above yours" - This sentence touched my heart.

The mail had another part. It was about the birth Month. October says :

Loves to takes things at the center - I treat them as if they are there @ the center!

Santa and Banta work in a software company. One day, they were to move their m/cs to another building. Banta was having a tough time carrying his machine.

Santa : “My m/c has 500 MB disk. See how easily I am carrying it. Yours has just 250 MB. Can’t you carry even this much?”

Banta : “But yours is empty and my disk is full”!!!

Decision of the day - Will be going for jogging tomorrow too.
